Leather
Houston’s leather community was quick to respond to the AIDS crisis. Meeting informally at
first at local bars such as Mary’s Naturally, these groups were some of the first to band
together and raise money for various AIDS-related organizations and causes. Many wore
treasured vests and collected pins and patches that honored their relationships and
involvement in the community.
